Thank you Kenny Rogers.
Halloween...wasn't.
Better luck next year.
We did get some trick-or-treaters though. Princesses in brown-paper crowns. And they got some cute lil'boxes of junior mints.
Erin-san and I thought of making thick yarn wigs to keep our heads warm. I'm calling it the "raw hat" project. Sure it's not an original idea. There are no more original ideas.
I believe we are here because something Wants Us to Be. I wonder if it's getting bored.
What of all the people born on June 6th 1966? They'll hit forty this year. Are exorcist movies coming back into vogue because the shelf life of the antichrist is almost over?
Ha, that's a latent Halloweeney thought.
Bon nuit.

A Halloweenless year.
Didn't happen here either. Didn't see one trick or treater. However, saw the meth heads next door get evicted. They are scary enough.Yarn hair huh? Well why not. Then if you want to avoid doing something you can always say, sorry, I have to stay home and wash my hat. What's with that "stay home and wash my hair" excuse anyway? Has anyone actually used that expression since the 50's? Since blow dryers were invented?
Bored? Are you kidding? With all the crazy things humans do? Gotta be more fun than the monkey house at feeding time. And I have definitely had the feeling at times that SOMEONE was laughing at me. I worry more that we are all part of some endless cosmic sitcom. Even worse, a sitcom with a socially uplifting message. Something like, "don't act like these fools down there." Sitcoms are only funny because the characters in them don't have a clue as to what is going on. Sound familiar? If you aren't good, SOMEONE sends to back to a sitcom starring Tom Arnold. Now that's a scary thought.
Exorcist movies are coming back because it's their turn. First spy movies (Mission Impossible), then horror films, although the two do co-exist, then westerns. Fantasy and sci fi were late-comers, so they squeeze in whenever, breeding (shudder) sci fi westerns. But I like your idea better. BTW, the kid from the omen is a real estate agent now I believe. Just thought I'd throw that in there.
Just another crazy artist

Sorry to read about your Halloween. I spent mine cowering in fear inside my house, because children generally frighten me. But that's a long story that is probably better discussed with a therapist or something.
Anyway, I was intrigued by your comment that "I believe we are here because something Wants Us to Be. I wonder if it's getting bored." Were you serious or just being lighthearted? I ask because if you were (at least partially) serious, I'd be curious to hear you say more...just to get someone else's perspective on the universe.
Mostly I wondered whether the "something" would be bored because nothing interesting is going on, or, on the opposite end of the spectrum, is it because so many things are happening recently that you wonder if "something" is playing with us out of boredom? And if you believe the latter, then what do you think is the reason for it? Do we all exist for someone else's entertainment? And if you believe this, how does it affect your sense of your personal relationship to other people, or to the universe?
I realize I run the risk of sounding like a humor-lacking ass by inquiring thusly, especially if you were just kidding, but as a person terrified of children I am obviously too shy to ask such personal questions of people I actually know... :)

As far as the People and the Universe go, I was thinking along the lines of entropy. Matter is breaking down, celestial bodies drifting further an further away from each other, things swelling and collapsing. The world is becoming embalmed in toxic compounds natural processes can not longer handle.
I know these things are cyclic and the universe will ultimately "right itself". But I can't shake the feeling that we're liveing in an aquarium with a broken filter.
Or at least I couldn't when I made that post, moods subject to change without notice,
